MihaelaDear Mr. Zvyagintsev, your movie "Leviathan" is a masterpiece. Your hard work and talent is putting together amazing, affecting movies, which will stand the test of time. Grateful for the chance to view your movies. Best.
Thank you so much for your films. I saw all of them. I am deeply impressed by Your art.
I wish you the best for your next creation and thank you again for your work.
JimI found the character of Vera in "Изгнание" to be unrealistic and obscene. Have you ever seen a woman with similar thinking as Vera? I never heard of a woman behaving as her or having such emotional condition. You are lying to us about that reckless mother!
Adel ZaptiaDear Andrey
Your movies are the hallmark of a genius. I have been blown away by all of your masterpieces.
The Return provides a wealth of symbolism. The religious allegories are utterly profound. From the opening scene, Ivan's failure to jump - he wasn't prepared to make the leap of faith. The allusions to Christ. Their children's disobedience when they went fishing and didn't return to their father on time. Carrying their father's body - the burden of sin. And much more.
Leviathan - is the best film of the century. There is too much to say about this piece of art.
I will re watch all your films as much as possible. They will live on, as true classics, for generation and generation, leaving a great impression on us all.
ThomasDear Mr Zvyagintsev, I am deeply obsessed by your movies, because they all can be read at different levels (political, sociological, or even theological) ; by wathcing them, the audience can see some short news item or an interpretation of the prophets. Symbolism does never suffocate your films but on the contrary give them an other dimension. Your movies changed my way of seeing and being part of the world. Thanks again Thomas
Machi EmmanouilVery good movie realistic, such as is the life itself many times. There will always be the Leviathan and if things come so and someone has been targeted by the system very difficult to get out alive. In our personal experience, the Leviathan was the university of Delaware which got our son as a Phd student at the age of 16 years, a young man with Asperger syndrome from Greece and despite his excellent academic performance, tried to get rid of him for psychological reasons and reasons immature. False accusations, smear campaign, isolation, deprivation of the basic right to education.
After 31/2 years torturous life, the death was the tragic epilogue of this story of a young student just 21 years with a disability who dared and had the qualifications to dream a distinguished position in this society.
Your movie will always be topical and timeless but life will continue writing his own scripts Is up to us to make them better.
First I want to congratulate you for your magnificent pictures, such as Leviathan. By the way, my name is Marina Velikotny, my grand father was Thedore Zvyagintsev, and perhaps we are relative, I might be your aunt. I live in buenos Aires since I was ten years.
I wish you all the success and happiness. [...]
AmaliaAstonished. Your film Leviathan is great. I feel so moved that cannot sleep. My best friend Marina Velikotny, who by the way, found out that is your relative, told me about Leviathan time ago, but I had no time to see it at the cinemas in Buenos Aires. Yesterday I got the dvd. Hope to havethe chance to appreciate the beautiful images in the large screen one day. Meantime I?ll try to find some of your other films. Last but not least, the actors are wonderful, specially Kolya. My best regards from Argentina.
Kirill NovakHello, Andrey.
Thank you for the film Leviathan. I found an answer to my question, lot of time reading Bible I don't understand Humility correctly, especially conflict between Power and React to Power. So then answer was in, while I watching the film finally it comes - both (Kolya and Vadim) are humiliated. One going through having power, another one going through losing. But both goes through it.
Also Leviathan is one of the rared films exploring ways to overcoming Chaos(Leviathan, Entropy). Lot of times reviewed in my mind scene: Roma siting on skeleton understanding illusions about his father. There is no easy way.
