FedericoAndrei,
I had the privilege of watching Elena last night at Film Forum in NY. The film was great and it was very nice to hear you talk too.
Being a (beginning) filmmaker myself it's very inspiring to see your work... the tone, the pacing, the mise-en-scene, the perfect blending of style and content... I wanted to ask you about your directing process but the Q&A flew away and I as still too affected by the film to articulate anything coherent. So I'll write them here: do you storyboard?, how much of the camera movement comes from you and how much comes from your DP?, at what point did you decide you would shoot that fight scene hand held?, did you had Phillip Glass in mind while you were shooting, or was it a later decision?
Anyway, thank you for your work. And all the best for your future projects, Fede. -

TeoI was just wondering when I would be able to watch "Elena" in New York City. I heard a lot of good things about it, and I absolutely love the previous works of Andrey. Thanks so much for your help! -

oliaDear Andrej, watching Elena was one of the most wonderful and striking moments i survived in the recent time. The way it is - showing the illnesses of our society in a very objective way - makes you think, feel pain and see yourself as a part of it. I promised myself to teach my children Russian, so they could get to know such a talented artist. good luck for you and all the people who participate in creation of your magic works. (there is a big film festival in Edinburgh and it would be great if we could have a chance see some of your works there ) -

Peter AyolovDear Andrey, Thank you and the whole team for "Elena". It's your best work so far. I was amazed. I wish that more people can see it without their "moral judgment persona" and really understand the film as mirror of a new world with a different morality. I am affraid that my review in IMDB is the only good one, but if my opinion means something this film is one of the milestones in 21-st century cinema. I am completely honest and this is not a flattery. (actually it is!) I've just finished waching all the "1001 films to see before you die" of the same name book and if you put the other 2000 I've seen before, I can say that after so many movies I have a "sober" judgment for films. I also have a master degree in film and am writing my phD. So please beleive me: You have created an masterpiece. For me "Elena" is as a perfect mixture between "The Shop on Main Street" 1965, "Crimes and Misdemeanors" 1989, "Uzak" 2002 and "Cargo 200" 2007. The film brings the spirit and questions of Fyodor Dostoyevsky in 21-st century. I really hope that you will make atleast one movie per year from now one, if not there will be something missing this year, it will be a "leap year" without your films. All the best Peter -

Ashish PandeyDear Andrei, I cherish meeting you @ Goa...Elena is beautiful. The depth of thought you put in constructing and then unraveling a scene is amazing. Do take some time off to view 'The Cabin man' & 'Open Doors'. Best of luck for your new adventure...I would eagerly look forward to your new creation. -

SachinDear Andrei, It was a pleasure meeting you here in Goa and then finding an interpreter to understand more about your vision of Elena. Is the soundtrack available by the way? I thought Philip Glass did a fantastic job and the tune keeps playing in my head ! all the very best to you. -

Mr. BluesAndrei you’re very good movie maker! Just watched your “Elena” – sadly, human sins and greed have no borders no matter where you live… Russia or North America, Europe or Middle East, etc. It’s everywhere the same, but with the different flavor, depending only on the country where you're in. That’s the way is “Human Nature” is. We can only watch it by making conclusions and improving ourselves. Good luck to you and your team and all the best!!
